Ok, so here's the story. I blew a coolant line on my truck (89' b2600i 4x4, about 250k on it). Blowing it overheated the truck, blew the head gasket, warped the head so bad the cam doesn't even turn right anymore, so I went and got a pulled a head from the junkyard, cleaned it up and everything, and the darned thing was cracked! So now I have 2 bad heads sitting here.
So at this point I have the whole engine pulled and completely dissassembled, I'm working on a custom front bumper, and rewiring everything. So there is pretty much no such thing as going to far, just costing too much.
Now finally, for my question: has anyone successfully swapped a V6 or V8 into their b2600i, and what did it take (bellhousing, tranny, motor mounts, driveline, ECU, exhaust)?
I know everyone says the V6's from the MPV and Aerostar fit the tranny if you get the right bellhousing, but what about the motor mounts? I would just go to the junk yard and rip some engines out, but right after I pulled mine I got t-boned by a semi and I have horrid whiplash, and can't really move a whole ton, so pulling an engine just to look at it doesn't sound appealing right now. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
