yes, I know FOR SURE that it is not the same engine, thus why they have different engine codes. The 4g63 is the same block as the g63b motor, which is Mitsubishis 2.0 carbed truck motor, which is what is in my Mitsu, but has different head and all that. 4g63t will only bolt up to its own transmission from the eclipse and the km132 manual tranny from a carbed 2.0 g63b mitsu truck

The 2.6 carbed mitsubishi motor(g54b) that came in some Mazdas has the same block as the 2.6 FI turbo starion/conquest but different head and all that.

Yeah, I know it's not the exact same engine, but I've heard they have either similar bolt patterns for the bellhousing, or that you can get a bellhousing that fits between the 4g63 and the b6200i tranny (or the conquest/starion). Does anyone know what other vehicles have the transmissions out of our b2600s?

The b2600 is a carbed mazda engine, from 86-88 I think. It's completely different from the B2600i, the fuel injected mitsubishi engine, from 88 on. I thought that the b2600i tranny bolted to the 4g63- but I could be wrong?

The b2600i truck trans is mazda's type III, the badass strong tranny. It's gearbox design is also found in the turbo rx-7's and some v6 929's and mpv's, also the 2.6 4 cyl mpv. All obviously have different gears ratios.

This trans is also founf in some mazda bongo vans from canada and overseas - and these vans had an "F" mazda block in them, the FE, like the one in my green truck- it's a 12 valve sohc 1.8 FI FE engine, simlar to a 12 valve ford probe, 626, mx-6 but distributor is on the side- not in the back!

The bell housings can be swapped between all of these tranny's, so that means you could jam in a v6 from an mpv, or a turbo rotary from an rx-7, or a FE engine from 626, mx-6, b2200, probe, or an FE3 (only is you import the bongo van bellhousing, get me one too please)

Mazda used the Mitsubishi G54B in carbureted form for their new 4wd model "B series" truck in 1987 and named it B2600, sticking with their naming scheme of model=engine size. They also use a standard bolt pattern in most of their transmission gearboxes from mid 80's-late 90's. Swaps are being done using a few different Mitsubishi engines 4g63/4g64/4g54 mated to a few different Mazda trannys using the bellhousing from this short 2 year production in 1987/88. Mazda changed the bellhousing again in 89 when they used their 100% totally new version of a 2.6 named "G6" but it has some similarities to the old g54b they borrowed from Mitsubishi for those first 2 years.

So yes? The mitsubishi 4g63 will bolt directly on to the b2600i transmission..? And does it use the b2600i bellhousing or the mitsubishi bellhousing?
