miata motor?

Hey guys I need to rebiuld my motor or buy a new one a friend will give me a miata motor but i dont know if it would be a really hard swap or not can anyone offer any advise or link me to a rebiult motor or another swap im working on a $1200 budget

Go to a wrecker get the wiring harness out of the miata and swap that in...you will be much happier.

1.6 or 1.8 what year motor? the 1.8 liter in 1995 had 145hp and with a turbo kit and cams you can hit 200whp no problem!

i've been pondering the miata swap as well. those little engines make alot of power considering what they are working with not to mention there is an assload of aftermarket support for them unlike our engines

I had plans to put a miata engine in my MX-3 with a ITB setup off a GSXR bike. You know, have 4x 40mm throttle bodies instead of one 60mm. Power! Here's some info:

1st gen BP are 89-98 regardless of what mazda and non mazda they come from they all have oil squirter and are the same with minor differences. the 95-98 protege ES is a non performance version of the BP but still a 1st gen BP

2nd gen BP known as a BP-4W is found in the 99-00 and mazdaspeed miata 04-05. now thats a modified BP

3rd gen BP known as the BP-Z3 found in the 01-05 mazda miata's thats another modified version of the BP-4W.

Sweet ok now heres another thing i guess is an option ive read that the 626/probe motors use the same block that are trucks do so that would meen i could buy a whole 626 motor n bolt it on in? ive seen guys bolt the head off of the 626/probe and turbo it that would be nice but for now i just want to get driving so do you guys think the 626 would be better does anyone here have experience with the swap i would love to keep a mazda motor in the truck n not crossbreed

use the search button and try to find a recent tread about the 626 motors. i dont know if you can use the 626 head due to the dist. would be hitting the firewall (or real close).

I wish there was a rear wheel tranny that would bolt to the klze. That would be awsome.
