Looked on the internet all damn day yesterday and found this site, and finally found some info on this carb. It seems that it has a problem with sticking allot and most people just upgrade to a weber. Well I do not have the time or funds right now to upgrade to a weber carb so I brought a rebuilt kit. Does anyone have the info on rebuilding a b2600 and not a b2000? or 2200?

It seems that most of the members have just these models ( I'm guessing because there all lowered or slammed to hell) I live in Massachusetts and slamming a truck is always a bad idea if you want it to last more then a year plus it's illegal here (our roads suck very very bad).

I've also been trying to find some good info on exhaust and lift kits. I've looked everywhere and couldn't find any headers for the 1988 4x4 king cabs, b2600 models. This truck is really starting to piss me off, in the past two weeks I have replaced the heater core, done a full tune up, replaced the whole brake lines on the drivers side, fuel filter, battery, slave for the clutch, sea foam out the engine, and now I have to rebuild the stupid carb. and it still needs new brakes. So if I can't get this thing to stay running when I come to a stop and start back up I'm scraping it this week!!

So please can someone please first help me out with the carb issue on this pile? then with finding a set of headers for this thing? I really want to rebuild this carb today and get it back into the truck so that I can drive in the 12 inches of snow that we just got last night.

Hell you can even im me online about this thing

Need this thing running now! I have to get back to rebuilding my 3000gt vr4 that's sitting in my garage and I need to get to work, thank you very much in advance.

Welcome to the site! Does the rebuild kit have any instructions at all? Or is it just a plain box with some gaskets (like most).

You might have to wait a few days for the resident engine gods to reply, but I'm sure their is a few members on this site that have done exactly what you are looking for.

As for the header I think you might be outta luck. Again, if one is available, someone on here will get you a link to the manufacturer.

hocbj23 and NYTRDR24 seem to have a lot of knowledge about Mazda engines. Lokk them up in the member listing and send them a pm, ya might get a little quicker response.

just a box with gaskets, I'm just running short on time here. I may have to make due with just the b2200 dia and vac pic's to finish up the job. I have messed around with carbs before but those where manual, but the one on this truck is a total mess and it's all electrical argh. coming from working on mitsu's all day and bronco's this is totally different. but I'm pretty much done with the Mazda trucks at this point in time and and dropped more money into the thing then I think it's worth and it's still not drivable which is killing me.
I'll take off the new studded tires and brush guard and such and junk it if it's not running in a few days.
But thank you for the quick response. ^_^

Before you scrap it you could probably sell the fenders and bed to someone on here if they are in good shape and get some of your money back.

I would but I need my driveway I have no time to wait around to take offers then take them off of the truck and then ship them off. one of my buddies found a toyota for me that is lifted and another standard etx cab 4x4 and it looks like i'm going to buy it. We have over a foot of snow and I need to have some wheels. I live in the hills. unless I can simply sell this thing today for like 850.

The B2600 is a Mitsu engine and if I remember my old 87 2600 4x4 has a 4 barrel Mikuni or kehnin carb.U might be able to find some tech support for a carb rebuild on the website of ur carb mfg.I do not have the shop manual for the 2600-I sold it to the guy who bought my truck or u would be welcome to it.If u know Mitsus u shoulnt have much trouble.BJ

none of the mitsu's that I work on have this motor in it. I have people that mostly have 3000gt and stealth's come to me. allot of straits and galant, once in a while the turbo ver of that vehicle but none with this electric carb. Sorry for any typo's I'm soo tired and can't see straight just got back in from winning a hot body contest and need sleep. thank you for all of the help though.
good night

couple of other thoghts--the Dodge D-50 mini trucks of the same era used the 2.6 Mitsu carbed motor as did some of the Chrysler K-cars and vans.Might find some help at a Dodge or Chrysler dealer re a shop manual-if they havent thrown them away.A 'hot body" contest? Dam-m-m-n.I am sure we would all like some pics posted.Lol.BJ

well the truck is posted on craigslist so until it's gone I mind as well hit up my job and see if we have some old Chrysler books on the motor. Thank and yes good call. And no I am most def not posting pic's of the contest on here that is just an all around bad idea. I can not believe that I type that. drunken late night post always end bad.....

but yes I sure as hell did win the finals the money will go towards a better truck or bigger tires.
