On the really cold days if u can leave a small lite burning next to ur battery, truck will be much easier to start.Occasionally a battery will have one bad cell, will check "normal" but will fail when u load it,thus the suggestion that u turn ur lites on for 30 seconds and then try cranking the truck. If the battery drags, probably a bad cell. Also if u r expecting a series of below freezing days, changing to 5w-20 might not be a bad idea.BJ

thats exactly what my buddy said, he said you may have just got a shitty battery with a bad cell. He said it will keep a full charge but when you go to try to crank it that dead cell will eff you. Gonna go tinker with it now.

...AAAND?

SO if you really wanna figure this out, get some jumper cables and go from a donor vehicle and just go straight to the battery terminals. NOT the battery posts, but the terminals on the cable for your engine harness. If it cranks without the battery you have, well, its your battery then!

I will try that tommarow, but now its got even worse. I found a disconnected wire and have no idea what its to.

The headlights and such still come on, but when you turn the key over the starter doesn't even click like normal but I think thats partially due to me yanking on a relay to get off thats no biggie I will get a new one. But I got a feeling theres some faulty wiring somewere thats just being a pure pain in the ass.

haha good call man I have had alot of great feedback so far on certain things.

So far the key things I have heard that stick out, is the ignition coil it self was going bad and it finally went out. Neutral safety switch for the clutch, but my truck could always start without the clutch being engaged. Were is the ignition switch located is it in the actual ignition or what?

Yes, attatched to it. Take the 4 screws out the column cover, and you can take it out from the left. 2 phillips screws, and the wires are about 14" long, and have connectors to take out. 5 minute job.

The switch for the clutch interlock starting switch is above the clutch pedal. Likely someone by-passed it or it's stuck in the "closed" position, as it's "normally open" unless the pedal is pressed down far enough.

check your spark plugs and wires.. Mine was having problems starting and I changed the plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor and now it starts right up with no problem.. also check your distributor
