you could weld the hole shut..i didnt, i just gusseted the bottom to make sure the bag mount will not start bending up, if that guy had lower gussets, it would have been fine...and if you had your bag mount even higher than his and used that same peice of metal to gusset it on top, it'll bend quick

ahh so just putting those lower gussets along with the top ones w/out filling that hole up should be fine ....got ya ...

ok i see what your saying now...my bag mount is welded to the frame itself andwelded to that shock mount but its gusseted only on the shock mount...but the shock mount is not all that strong...so...ill be mounting some gussets to the bottom of the bag mount to the frame this weekend....its nice to be able to talk to people that dont mind giving information...yhanks bro

Thanks Mark...Is there a number of Inches, that the top bag mount has to be welded to the frame, i believe its an 8" frame, where abouts should i mount the upper bag mount and how much of an angle? just though i'd get your opinion, Thanks again...I'll be readin'

everyones setup is gonna be different^^^
Mark and I both gusseted uppers and lowers.
Mark has two gussets on his upper and I only have one big ass one. factors that are gonna affect how ur bags are angled and mounted are how close they are to the frame how much you cut off the hump. If you notch your control arms. etc.
I would recommend welding a piece of 1x1 in between your upper and lower bag mount that is 3 inches long (height of compressed 2500 or 2600). Of course you want the upper and lowers to parallel when u do this and you want them to be lined up. This will help take the guess work out of the angles and you will have a nice fully compressed bag. So no wasted lift

yea it all depends on you, depends how big your wheels are as well etc.

if you are seriously worried about messing it up, then maybe doing it yourself isn't the best option. If you can't afford or don't want a shop to do it. Try to find someone close enough to you to help you out and make sure everything is legit.
Just my opinion.

Im not doing it on my own, but im not sure if the place thats doing is know's much about air ride setups, etc....i believe they did have a big part in Slammed a Fullsize Orange Chevy here in my town on air, but im not 100% sure, looks tight though...i should be fine, i just want everyone's opinion on certain things...so basically i would take the shock out, sway bar, lower balljoints get the control arm to completely move right up as far as it can (to the extent of my wheel) and then the thinkness of the bag from the lower control and make my approx mark for my upper bag mount...?
