for the ppl who have reverse links did yall mount them to your stock rear leafspring mounts or did you hack them off and build new ones?

i completely cut off the leaf spring mounts w/ a torch and grinded the rest off. the bars are welded to the rear end in the front, and we bought a piece of 1/4" thick box tubing to weld the 4 link bars to in the back. the tubing is welded straight across perpendicular to the frame rails.heres how you do a "bag on bar" setup or cantilever setup. the bags are mounted on the bottom bars, the ones perpendicular to the rearend. we made the bottom bag bracket out of a bottom bag mount for an over-axle setup, and the top bag bracket is welded to the frame on the inside. I know my frame was already boxed in on the inside, but i dont know if all year models are like that. but if not you have to box in the inside of the frame to mount the top bag bracket. I know s10 frames arent. I would also put a gusset on the bars that the bags are mounted to if youre doing a cantilever, so youre bars dont bend in half. DEFINITLY use them if youre not running suicide doors 4-link bars. they are thicker than any other bar ive ever seen. the farther twords the back you mount the bag, the more lift you will get, but the less stable it will be. if you move it too far back the whole truck will start swaying if youre goin over 70. i would recommend puttin the bag right behind the notch, its very stable that way and you still get good lift. move it any farther back and you will most likely have problems. ill try to find a pic of my rear suspension to show you...

WHAT HE SAID!

That's good advice. I have learned that lesson the hard way myself.

lol man what is up w/all the hatin on reverse four links man lol gosh! i dont understand, it seems to me like the reverse would seem easier, cause then you dont have to totally relocate the gas tank and exhaust and all that, but thats just my two cents. seems to me if you know what youre doin, either one would work fine. but thats just what i think. somebody tell me what the big deal is bout reversed four links lol
