if your using the stock leafs then they can only be arched 2 inchesand a bit

would it be cool to just dearch the main spring and one helper spring?
because if you can get like 2-3 inches of drop from taking two springs out, and then get two springs dearched, you could get around 4-5 inches of drop.
what do you think?

well for now i have 2 leafs and 3inch blocks. next im gona buy another set of 3" or mayb a set of 2" then have them welded together profrssionally by my girlfriends dad (he owns a company here in kentucky as u may know. its marine diving servaces, they do alot of underwater welding and above, replace underwater pipes, drains, clean drains...perdy much anything that u could think of) but have them stacked and welded then paint them n throw them back in there. is it would be like having a 5-6" block which i have a hard time finding anything bigger than a 3 round here. would that be ok?

your gonna axle wrap like a bitch. My axle hit my frame with one leaf and 3 and half inch block.

i wouldnt suggest welding those together, that just has axle wrap written all over it,

as for the just d-arching the main and a helper, do you mean having all the leafs in the pack and only arching two of them? if so i dont think it would be worth it, cause the other leafs would try and force it to arch, but if your just using the 2 leafs then it would be plausable, but i wouldnt do it cause your springs would be arching upwards, and that wouldnt last long, when i got mine done 2 1/4 or 2 1/2 inches (or whatever they did) my leafs are now almost straight with no arch at all

if your gonna bag your truck. Let it be. Trust me. I have been there I have done that. Its better to just keep those couple of inches while you save up for your bag setup.

Dude, not trying to be a weiner or anything, but stop looking for ways to ghetto rig this. first off welding blocks is a terrible idea. so is welding spring steel as someone already mentioned. IMO blocks aren't the best idea anyway, why make them bigger, and at the same time increasing the leverage for axle wrap? if you didn't know axle wrap is when the normally u shaped spring resembles more of an "s" leading to pinion wear, and possibly the leaf breaking. i know that's not too common for the low hp and torque of the manly mazda motor, but it'll happen if you *shudder* stack blocks. once you go down that low you'll just be bottomed out on your frame, which has crappy ride, not to mention unsafe. do it right the first time, notch your frame, and get a set of lowering springs, or if you are planning to bag it eventually, wait. i did the whole lowered thing, pulling leafs, then eventually going as far as to flip them upside down. jeez, wouldn't do that again. that's what you call experience, and knowledge. just trying to pass it along.

Same thing for me I got low static all the way to the frame. I was mono'd for awhile too. It sucks I will never drive another monoleafed truck again.

Heh, I just added a couple leafs back in. I was running two leaves per side. Passenger side helper leaf broke in half! Who's a good source for aftermarket mono leaves?
