It doesnt seem to be a go....how far should i loosen the bolt off to drop it a good amount, temp till air comes

get some pb's penetrating lube, and try to spray
it on top of the t-bolt & let it sit for a day.
you can take a large pipe wrench to let tension off
the bar to make the bolt easier to turn. the fartherest
i let it down is where the bolt is at least half way in the
t-bolt, that way it is fully engaged, i have hit man hole
covers etc., with them not fully engaged, and jerk the torsion
bars off, and snap the bolts. if this isn't low enough for
you, you can always re-index the bars to get it lower. just
make sure how ever many turns you do one bolt do the
one on the other tortion bar the same.

thanks, I'll try that tomorrow...i have 2 new Torsion bolts i bought from mazda...i was thinking about cutting off the one's that are on there, but they got alotta pressure on them, and seems dangerous, so i dont think so...

I too tried using something, forget what, to take the tension off some.

i tried jacking the truck up on the mount that the torsion bolt goes though to take the pressure off the bolt, but it just jacked the truck up.

Are bump stops needed with bags?

i don't think so with bags, but if you lower it much by cranking down the t-bars, you'll need to shave it down or get a low profile one from belltech or another mfg.
jacking up the truck won't take the tension off the bars, it is best to have a friend use a large pipe wrench (say with a 4' handle) and keep pressure on the t-bar while you loosen the bolt. like you said it is unwise to cut the bolt out with the tension on the bar....it could cause damage to the vehicle not to mention yourself.

if you don't mind me asking what did mazda charge you for the bolts? i think i paid @$32 dollars to replace the one i broke back in the day.

$12 something each i think...i cant remember
nytrdr24   +1y
heck of a lot better than the $32 i paid! did you have any luck with it?
