sometimes gussets going down interfere with the bag, if they arent wide enough then the bag will rub it, i like them up i feel its stronger because like gravity said the way the force is applied.

i would think up was stronger as well. also better because no bag rubbing or getting in the way of shock

Sweet, thanks guys...

Im assuming slammed83, your gussets go up??

Theres nothing wrong with these brackets but if you run a good amount of psi and your valves are close to the bag they will eventually start pulling up. shocks would prevent this,I still use this, I just re-ran my crossmembers overtop of the bracket it self.

But I always recommend them going up if you run alot of psi and such.

it really has nothing to do with how much psi you run or how close your valves are to the bag. unless you are hopping or something, you shouldn't bend anything. as long as the gusset is properly installed, and the welds are fully penetrating, you shouldn't run into any problems

Awesome.. thanks guys, ill keep it in mind.. Ill prolly install the kit next week sometime, they will prolly arrive on friday.. I dont plan on workin on the truck this weekend..

I too prefer mine going up, but the stock upper bracket kind of limits where you can put them. I just like it to look clean, either way.

IMO, if it looks like it definitely was not supposed to be there, you did it wrong.

i think if your brackets are breaking when your gussets are goin down you shouldn't be bagging trucks, i pefer gussets goin up

i have mine going down as well. With the way i put in my top plat there was no way to mount them going upwards..
