noob alert

just got my 3" blocks in, but the stack bolt holding on the overload just spun so i had to cut the nut off. I reinstalled the chopped bolt to help align the spring stack, but how normally does this bolt stay in place? the head was round (for the alignment of the leaf stack)

To get that bolt out I use plenty of penetrating oil, and clamp the head with some vice grips. Also, it is probably wise to use a c-clamp around the pack before you remove the bolt. Some of the packs have a lot of built up tension. When you reinstall it you likely will need a new one, (avaiable at most parts houses)because the threads don't go all the way up the shank. Or you could use washers to take up the space. just make sure they are small enough to fit through hole in the bottom spring plate.
