even the newer ones (like the 98 you were talking about) are pretty gut less, i ran one last week or something..only had like maybe 1 or 2 lengths on me by 80 haha booooo

I've heard they are hit or miss. But for the most part the 3.0 is a boat anchor. They blow head gaskets a lot. Toyota did a much better job with the R series motor, and with the 2RZ, and Supra motors over the years.

My buddy was telling me you can get bellhousing adapters to put the 1jzgte in the older yotas, supposedly it's right easy

Advanced Adapters. They also make an adapter to mate that engine to a Chevy automatic. Lol.

ill tell ya what, i guess the old supras had 3.0s? well my girlfrends car is a 93 toyota cressida. flawless grey leather interior, power everything, beautiful car, and damn its pretty fast, her dad said they used the same motor as in the supra, i donno how true that is but this car will fly, if you ever get a chance to drive one (probably not, they are rare) do it for sure! he has one that he keeps at is shop for backup while she drives the other. -bf
