Hi All,

I'm only new to the Mini Truck scene and it has bitten me big time!!!

I have just picked up my first truck and i'm ready to buy myself a set of 20's and get it bagged, But I need to know a little info from those in the know !!!

Specs of my truck
*Australian 8/85 model Ford Courier Supercab (same as 86 mazda B series)
*no body drop
*completely standard running gear at the moment.
*Has 4x4 tub and will have 4x4 front guards

I'm chasing the wheels first as I will be starting to bag it in the next few weeks and want the wheels on for the process...

The bag/4 link/notch setup im ordering is to lay 20's but I want to know whats the best offset to clear the sheet metal and so on ...

I have chosen the rims and the size they come in is as follows...
20x7.5 with an offset of either 20, 35 or 40

I assume an offset of 20 will not be enough but will the 35 or 40 be right with them only being 7.5 wide OR ????

Your help will be greatly appreciated !!!

Cheers guys..

The 40 should be ok with a 7.5" rim, but Id wait for the others that know a bit more about the subject to chime in.

depends on how big of a tire you want really i had 225/35/20s on my civic and they are really small not much sidewall at all but the smaller tire the more clearance you are gonna have. smaller tires ride rougher if you are looking for a decent ride i would go with the 40s

are u planning on body dropping it?

on mine in order to lay the 20's we used aim drop spindles and reangled the upper ball joints about 20 degrees, instead of spindles i would "z' the frame,

as for the 20x7.5 with the +40 offset should tuck fine, i would run a 30 series tire if u are body dropped

Thanks for the info guys !!

I dont think I will ever body drop my truck...!!! I really just want it to lay rails... If I can get it to do that, then I'm more then happy !!!

@ FLAMEDS10

You said run a 30 series if DB'd.. So with no DB and the 20"x7.5", 40 offset and 4X4 sheet metal what series do you think I would get away with ?? 35 maybe 40 ?? and still clear everthing and still lay ??

Also, for a 7.5" rim what size tyre do you run 215 or 225 Cause from memory (which isn't very good) a 205 is 7" and 225 is 8"

By the way, Sweeeeet truck dude !!!

i'd do a 35 tire
mine lays frame on 225-30-20

hey flameds10, is your truck BD? I have a 2.5 Stock floor bd and i'd love to run 20's. I heard it wont lay frame with that tho. Not without tubbing the firewall. Is this true for you?

mine is body dropped to the pinch(2inches)and lays frame, 20's definatly hit the firwall, just tub it out like we did on mine
