Mono leaf

what are the main drawbacks of running mono leaf besides possible axle wrap, a weak suspension (as per weight in the back), and i guess the chance of bottoming out...?? i dont rally the thing, and i dont have bump stops... any advice would be nice, thanks.

I have had mine mono leaf'd with a block for a long time now without any real bad effects. depending on if you also have blocks or not your axle may hit the fram on a big bump since you dont have bumpstops. Your ride quality wont be the best but thats part of having a static drop lol

Just make sure you keep the main leaf and the overload (helper) leaf.. dont run with only the main leaf.

my set up right now are the main leafs, "non-stock" overload leafs and 3" blocks. i took two leafs out and when i did this i found out that the pack was not stock and thats why it did and still does sit so high. i guess my options are either go with just the main leaf or swap out the overloads ive got for stock overloads. but your sayin i shouldnt run just the main so i guess im gettin a couple stock overloads.

If you run only one leaf you risk breaking the leaf... My buddy was running one leaf on an s10 and it snapped right at the "eyelet". It wasnt pretty lol

so im gonna attempt to run just the main leaf, if it rides like shit ill throw some bump stops back in and keep an eye on the condition of the leafs. thanks for the input.

Bump stops don't make a difference in handling, just what bottoms out where. The main leaf needs a support leaf to keep it from flexing too far inward and breaking. Quality shocks and the support leaf are your best bet for a quality static drop. And a notch if you're running large blocks that cause the axle to hit the frame.
