Dean sorry im just now getting back to you. But the reason i choose to do the reverse leaf spring eyes is because i have a shop where the tools to do it are available. Sorry if i came of as ignoring the way you did it. But this one is my dd that i use to haul small stuff in and i still need some suspenion. I love how low your truck is but its just a little lower than i need mine right now.

I'm confused on one part, when you say flip main leaf over and install 2 additional leafs... What exactly does that mean... Add 2 additional main leafs or two additional leafs from the original set up, and on top or bottom of now flipped main leaf? Sorry hard for me to picture what your doing. Any pictures of this? Sorry I have no idea about leaf springs but want to lower the rear more. And which is the overload spring?
Any pics of more info would be awesome thanks

The overload spring is the short and very thick one at the base of the stack. I can't answer the rest of your questions as I'm not sure how he does it.

Ok, I don't have any pictures, but here's what I did. The stock spring pack on my truck had the main leaf, and two shorter leafs, plus the overload spring. I had removed some spring leafs when I bought the truck new, I think it had five leafs, but it was a long time ago. So basically the main leaf has been turned over, the other two springs have been installed on the bottom of the main leaf, along with the overload spring. The spring pack looks just like stock, but without the arch. It's basically flat now. Did this help? I can get pictures of the reassembled and installed spring pack if you need it. Just remember the springs are under tension, so don't remove the center bolt until you have the all thread, and you clamp the springs. Read through my original post before you do this. Dean

That makes more sense now. Would still like a picture if you can but I think I get it now. Main leaf flipped, two smaller ones underneath, and overload (smallest and thickest) goes on the bottom. Might do this soon as my truck sits real high in the back even with the 3" blocks

Has anyone tried this method without adding the two extra springs? I have my truck lowered and cant go any lower without changing the suspension components or something. I only have the stiffener spring and long arch spring. I think its called the mono/stiffener springs setup or something like that.

Let me refrase that... I refuse to use bigger than 3" blocks on my current setup. I dont trust blocks as they have failed me before but Im using them again dispite my 4wd accident years ago. l like the idea of flipping the longest leaf spring as it makes perfect sense but I dont have the two extra springs on my truck and before I tackle this project just wanted to know if anyone else had tried it? My frame will be step notched this weekend so I can use the advice before then if at all possible.

If u flip a monoleaf, please see ur dentist first and have ur teeth capped.U will be riding on shocks only and every bump in the road will translate to the seat of ur pants and ur teeth,Good luck.bj

well I see people with their static drop is way lower than mine, when I step notch I still won't be as low as some and I'm not sitting frame on my current setup anyways. besides what is having a flat leaf have anything to do with the way a leaf works? it will still have some type of spring rate. I have lifted jeeps with springs with a rate 5 times the amount needed and never had any problems.

Change to shorter shocks.

glad to see Dean chimed in on this again. I was actually going to move the shocks as I have to for my bags anyways but for time being I'll just relocate them.
