hey can i put my tank back behind my tailgate skin and just have the neck come up out of the bed???

yes.. it will fit in the frame rails.. you might have to cut the floor out and have it flush with the bed floor for clearance issues.. or get a chevy blazer gas tank.. it will fit in there for sure.

if you do that you need to put it half in half out (the mounting holes on the sides of the tank bolted to the bedfloor) because behind the wheels you have to worry about dragging there too when you lift the front dump the back for dragging and whatnot. Honestly the best bet is a fuel cell up against the cab at the front of the bed.

yea, i cut mine out because it would have been too low to make it flush with the bed and just have the neck sti ck out

not the best pic, but you get the idea

and it has to be a standardcab gas tank, the xcab tanks are too long

yea its a reg cab but i might try to find a blazer gas tank and it should be fine right?

Yeah.. they are a few inches wider and a not as deep.. so they fit under there. Also.. i hear most boat fuel cells will fit too.

does mazda's have a external fuel pump or is it in the tank? please help let me know
mullet   +1y
depends.. some of them have it on the side of the engine... i'm not sure if the other one is in or on the tank.

What year is your truck?

fuel injected motors have it in the gas tank.
