thats what i was planning on doing and but home depot and lowes had only small peices and i wanted one big one so i dont have to worry about leaks. anyways, heres what i did today. i wrapped the frame in some thick plastic sheet that i got from next down the street where they were building a house.

to make it look nice, i ordered vinyl that i'm gonna wrap around a very thin peice of posterboard or plywood or something. this way it will be completly flat and look good.

this part cost me less than $20 and with the vinyl, the whole tonneau will cost me around $50

how much does that weigh?

Close to 50 lbs roughly. Aluminum is half that or less.

BMX, that is a good frame, but the vinyl looks a little loose. How sturdy is that?

how about plexy glass in those gaps in the frame shimmed so its all level then bondo the cracks and glass the whole thing itd be light but strong as shit! id put in a shock and put it in a popper with switch in the cab to open it.

thats not the vinyl. thats just crappy plastic sheets that they use for construction. i ordered the vinyl and it will be here soon. i'm gonna wrap it arond a thin board so it cant sag or anything and it will be perfectly flat. as for the weight, its like 30-40lb. i would have liked to have done metal but it would take too long cuz i dont have much tools and it would cost more. what you see in the pictures cost me less than $20

i'm also chipping the wood away on teh bottom in some places to make it completly flush with the top of the bed.
