Look at the line where they meet the hatch.
It isn't vertical... it has a slight slant on it.
If you put these on a pickup, you'd have to kick the bottom out to maintain the tailgate line, or modify the tailgate, etc...

hmm i think i get what your saying. i'll have to see if i can find one at the mall or something and check it out. or shit... go to the ford dealer. my tailgate is welded shut anyway, so that's no problem, if i'm following what you're saying.

K forst of all Corvette lights do not belong on a truck PERIOD
some guy around where i live has them, and u can hear the laughter as he drives down the road..LOOKS GAY AS hell

skyline lights same thing, ugly as shit. I say make those escape lights fit, b one of a kind.
be a leader not a follower, just because something aint easy, doesnt mean u shouldnt do it.. it just makes it that much better when ur done!

I fill the same about the vette and skyline tails but not so bad, but Im not to big about the ones you picked, the escape tails I thank will not work for the shape of the body of the b-bodys, but Im all for one off's and doing what you like, but I thank you will have a harder time puting them in then most here are giveing it... ya your tailgate is welded up but is the over all shape of the tail going to fit where you want to put it.. and still give you the right lighting you need...from the look to me if you flush mount it it will be faceing down a little and may not shine enf for the cops to not f** with you... now Im not say your plans are bad just saying it may not work but by all means please prove me wrong I love to see thing work out and look good too

yeah i think so too. i just need to make sure the angles of the sides and rear of the escape and the mazda are similar, which i think they are. then figure out how to mount them the same way they're mounted in the escape(which i'll have the sales man tomorrow let me into the SUV to "browse before i buy") ha ha ha. maybe take an angle finder and coutour gauge. paper and pen. i'll get er done. if i remember that is....
