Question about the Mazda B2600i "Bubble" hood

Does anyone know if the early B2600i's had a bubble hood or a flat hood like a 2200?

We have a 90 B2600i with a factory flat hood. We are trying to determine if this was the original hood or it was replaced with a hood from another truck. If it was replaced, they managed to find a hood that matched the original truck's color.

For some reason I was thinking the bubble hoods were only on the fuel injected B2600 trucks, hence the i designation. I am assuming your truck is fuel injected and not carberated.

iv read some where that the bubble was put on the 4x4s up to 91 then it was put on all 2600i's, only 3 more years for us...i had a 90 2600i and it had a flat hood

over here i believe they only came on the 4x4, and i think only the diesel versions.

my b2600i is a 91 and it has the flat hood, not for much longer thought

not sure if my 88 b2600 4x4 had one to begin with or not, but probably not. last owner was a junkyard dog/weekend racer, and the hood on it is a charcoal color (truck is black). he never mentioned anything about a bubble hood, but the supports in my current hood are 'trimmed' to fit the air cleaner on the chevy 2.8 engine in it.

i suspect the bubble hood was designed so for the height of the fuel injected 2.6 intake manifold... carb trucks probably wouldn't have had them. could have been just a whatever deal when they had the bubble hoods made... throw it on whatever carbed or FI'd 2.6.

no the 2600i came on the 2600i 4x4 and the 2wd models i have bought and sold 4 hoods and 3 came off 2600i 2wd trucks. also if you had a carbed 2600 4x4 it came with a regular hood but they were rare I have only seen one around here

Had a 1987 4x4 B2600 non injected, no bubble hood.

Bought my bubble hood off of a 1991 2wd B2600i.

87 and 88 with the carbed 2.6 mitsu motor had a normal hood. The bubble hood came on 89-93 b2600i's.

The bubble hood were only on the b2600i 4x4 trucks the 2wd had the flat hood
