Problem with big bass is that especially with ported, you will not get the best part of the bass note in the cab... Your better off being 10ft. or so in front of the truck to actually hear the tremendous bass its producing. Our cabs, even ext. are still too small to deflect the bass waves enough to actually lengthen it out in the cab. Ever notice why our bass sounds pretty damn good a couple blocks away, but then when it gets to you, you notice it did'nt pound as hard?

The expedition has all the room for the bass to stretch it out when its bouncing around in there. But don't get me wrong, being in the cab with it full blast is gonig to be the equivalent of putting it right up to your ear!

well i wana keep my mofo but they were made for ported and ported only. so i donno if theres any way to make it louder to me in my cab or not...anyways thanks. -bf

It wont matter, if you have ported or sealed, to be honest. Ported really only makes a difference in the cab. Just higher dB's. Its the bass and the size of the cab that affect how your going to hear the bass. Only way to affect how you feel more bass in our situation is to get a canopy, or bed shell, etc. and you can either leave the back of the cab there, or cut it out and make a walk through. If you pointed your sub box towards the back of the tailgate and had it a certain distance from the tailgatel when you space it correctly, both the subs cone area and port will synchronize and make the bass hit!

Although, this probably is'nt what you were originally making the truck. What I'm sayin is, the optimal place for our boxes is in the bed. And really, that sub you have is going to pound no matter what in the truck. But its just with such little volume of air in our trucks, that there is no compression of air in the cab. For the subs to make that harrrd pounding!
