All those subs are garbage in my opinion. I'd rather have even an MTX over any of them. I do agree that the Audiobahn's are a waste of time. Yea they look good but first they sound like "crap" and second thay will probably fail in one way or another in a very short time. Eclipse makes killer head units but other than that there speakers and amps are over priced for how they perform. And Alpine makes some good head units and amps but there speakers and drivers are brutal. Call them type E or type R or whatever you want there still just an average speaker.

JL makes a very good and reliable speaker for your dollar and this is comming from someone who would never own a JL driver. And I love there amps.

In the end there nothing better than Image Dynamics.

seirra, not starting anything, but name a single 12" sub under $125 other than the alpine type r that is capable of 141db. -bf

I got 3 JL 10w3's and a JL 500/1amp that sound great,but I had 2 Kicker comp cvr's daul 2ohm,that were very nice subs for the money,I was running a MTX 6500D on them.

I never said anything about price but you always get what you pay for. To hit 141 with a single driver is not that uncommon anymore. There are alot of factors that come into play when you are talking about DB not just the driver, but I know what you are getting at. When you throw SQ out the window and just want to hit it for cheap then this is what you can use.

Pioneer TS-W3004SPL Car Subwoofer for $121. This subwoofer will definatly hit over 141 DB. Did a T-Bird with one of these using a new PG amp, 2 batteries and a cap in a ported box. In a week the dude broke most of the welds behind his rear seat and started to rip the hinges off his trunk.

Image Dynamics IDQ12 D4 V.2 Car Subwoofer. An old sub which you can get on ebay for $150 will most definatly hit the 141 mark.

With any sub no matter what it is you have to have the rest of the system to back it. So you can spend $10 on a sub or $1000 on a sub but its only going to be as good as the rest of your system.

consitering how uch bass you get from an r, the sq is good imo.

pics are late because the guy is lazy and didn't finish my box for Saturday so I have to wait till this weekend. I still don't know what sub is being used. I'll find out when it's all said and done and then make myself go deaf.
