i will get a pic of how i have my wires run, nothin speial, i just put it where it wouldnt get pinched.
yeah man 6x9s would work just fine, you might even get to bring the angle grinder with a cutoff wheel out, which is always fun.

You could probably just screw them right into the panel but .. how they would sound would be a different thing maybe? Im not too sure, I've never seen it done personally.

If you want to make some enclosures for them I think that would be your best bet as your making more room for them to sound like theyre supposed to.

Like i said to you on MSN, think about mine.

I've got pretty much a 6.5x13 (Technically more(Not including gap between each speaker)), since I've got 2 6.5s beside each other on each door, so yeah its possible.

I don't think I should have a problem mounting them on the door itself, because in my Ford Contour, all the factory speakers were in the doors, and they were 6x8s,and there was just a hole stamped into each door for the speaker to fit into and then 4 screw holes. The 6x9s I have now were in it,so I'm sure they could work.

And yes, that will be fun if I get to bring out the angle grinder and dremel.

I wish my truck was emo so it would cut itself. lol

6x9s are a no go for the door panels. I fitted them where that vent in the door panel is,and the speaker mounts too deep,so that when you roll the window down, the window hits the magnet of the speaker. I then moved up to the front of the door panel, where you guys normally would put your 6.5s,but I would have to cut the door, and again,I still think the window would hit the magnet.

Looks like the 6x9s stay where they are for now.

if you were gona put them back there they would pretty much useless, time you shut your door, the music could go straight into the seats side. think of it like this, a subwoofer behind the seat and listen then to it with the eat leaned forward. its night aand day difference. just take $60 or so and get a good set of 6.5s or somthing like that. -bf

i'm not a fan of 6x9's themselves. i say get a 5.25 or 6.5 components....
lowblownranger   +1y
well i can say this i agree with carolinasled 5.25 or 6.5... but also becareful we just recantly did a full suede interior on ym buddies ranger when we fibrglassed the door panels before we wrapped them ...we measured everything out spaced the speakers out so nothing would hit and when we loaded the panels and mounted the door panels when we rolled the windows down guess what they hit the 2 6.5s we had mounted in the door...

in other words measure 2 or 3 times cut 1 time we ended up destroying 2 door panels and $150 worht of suede ill find some pics of the truck and post some pics

get these if you want your wires to look clean in your door jabms, so you dont just see some wire hanging there when they are open, and more importantly so you dont pinch them and risk grounding something out

I was just trying the 6x9s to see if they'd fit because they're all I've got right now. I have to get rims/tires and a rollpan before I start anything else.

well if ya want to do it....do it....

also check these out also to eliminate wire loom....
