What year and model Caddy do you have? There might be a dash kit available, it just might not be cheap.

what i was saying is does the factory amp use speaker level input or rca's? because if it uses rca's u can use an amp with a pass thru for the rca's
airedout89   +1y

Factory installed amps don't have RCA's.

the only cars that i know of that have factory rca outputs are the hyaundai tiberon with the factory kenwood radio (its just a kenwood ez500 with a hyaundai logo on it) and some vipers.

ok,so it sounds pretty easy then. The car doesn't have a factory sub, just 8 speakers and a factory amp in the trunk.

It's a '98 Cadillac Catera with the premium 8 speaker Bose system.

This is the dash kit you need, it is from Metra 99-2004

Ok,so I can't hook the sub up without iusing this converter deely?
outkastdawg   +1y
nope either the converter or get the dash kit airout posted and go after market

Outkastdawg is correct. I would be hesitant to use a line level convertor on a Bose until I looked it up and knew exactly which one I had. I know in the past some factory Bose systems had the amp on each speaker and the head unit had no power out of it at all.

Might go to and see what is made specifically for your car. Airedout89 has already found the dash kit for you, now all you need is the correct wiring harness adapter to switch to an aftermarket head unit. Good luck!
