if all you are going to add is an amp with an aftermarket sub... you will use the line out converter. there will be 2 pairs of wires (one solid color, one striped, another solid color, another striped) twist the solid colors together and the striped colors together to get 1 solid and 1 striped then find the factory subwoofer (in the rear deck most likely) strip the factory wiring back about 6 inches and cut the wires to the speaker (leave a minimum of 3 inches on the speaker side to be able to reconnect it in the future) with the speakerwire hanging down(from the car side) connect the speaker wire to the wires from the line out converter (to make an educated guess as to the positive wire... pick the wire closest to the plug release pin) after you connect it then run your amp wires and hook the amp up... run the rcas from the loc and connect your speakers.
basically what you are doing is using the factory "sub out" the sub will be crossed over thru the factory bose system but the sub is powered by an aftermarket amp. hope this helps.

not really, lol, because my car doesnt have a factory sub. Just 8 speakers and the factory amp.

I'd like to put my Sony headunit in it instead,I can't stand not being able to play mp3's in the car. I'll look into the dash kit and stuff, but I'm broker than a bum right now.

there isnt a factory sub in the rear deck? you can conect the loc to the rear speakers but more than likely it will be a full range freq. so it will have voice instead of just bass . you can connect to the rear speakers as well... just keep each colored pair seperate... white and white stripe to left rear
grey and grey/stripe to right rear.

Left Rear Speaker (+/-) green - brn/grn

Right Rear Speaker (+/-) white - brn/wht
there are your speaker wires... you can find them behind the radio. or at the speaker itself

I don't want to get into pulling out the headunit in this car myself.

What do you mean wire into the rear speakers? The converter deely or the subwoofer itself?

I hate electrical work,lol

it's not hard pulling the radio from your car. If you get the dash kit, especially from Metra, it gives you detailed instructions on how to remove it.

i'd recommend installing the loc behind the radio (if you ever swap the factory radio out... the wires are already ran) but you can just open the trunk and the rear speakers might just be sitting there... just strip it back a few inchs (so you can reconnect it if you ever sell the car) and tap onto the speaker wires. it shouldn't take more than 45 minutes to do the whole wire/loc install it is actually a simple job.... hardest part is finding the accessory wire to use as the remote for the amp.

Oh,simple enough then. Well, when I get some money...I guess if I sell some of my truck crap,I'll see what that dash kit costs and I'll put my Sony mp3 player from the Mazda in the Caddy and get one of those converters and put my 10" sub in it. Because you know, stock sucks. Could I even replace the factory amp with my Kenwood 4 channel amp? I have to keep th ecar for another year and a half at the minimum,so I may as well have some good tunes with all the driving I do.

Our dash kits cost $17.99 so they aren't that expensive. I wouldn't worry about replacing the factory amp with a kenwood or any other amp. It will still sound pretty good.
