LOOKS GOOD , WILL BE NICE AND SMOOTH WHEN YOUR FINISHED.

DID YOU USE CLOTH OR MATT TO STRENGTHEN IT?
maztang (ryan)   +1y
i am laying the cloth, then filling it, then sand some more, then matt, sand, then a thin layer of cloth, sand, fill, prime, and paint. actually there is a guy i work with that has a cousin that works in a bodyshop that is going to prime and paint it for me. i think i am going to do the whole dash and interior a jet black, and the outside with a flat black primer with a red pin stripe.

Very nice! Look forward to seeing the final product.

well i sanded the filler tonight and had to add a little more due to air pockets. i am going to let it sit tonight and sand again tomorrow night then add matting and take some more pics. i will add them as i go.

man you inspired me to pull the dash out of my 84 today and the wiring behind it looked a lot like yours, did every one hack up the wiring in these things

Didn't you know it's customary to make a mess out of the wiring before you sell a truck? And you can adapt this to any vehicle you happen to be parting with. lol!

making me want to go down in my basement rip out my dash and glass it

reminds me of when I did one, last summer, sanding red plastic and coating it w resin, I cut abs and epoxy glued in the holes I had instead of lots of matting.
I made the last one out of sheetmetal I prolly will do it that way from now on.

i love working with fiberglass. it comes real natural to me.

i wish i had a basement to work on it in. haha, i have a very small closet. so small that i have to turn the dash to go from corner to corner just to work on it. kinda sucks but it gets the job done.
