I actually solved the missfire. Thats not an issue any longer. The black shit does not smell like gas, just like water and carbon. It feels like water mixed with charcoal.

I'm going to disconnect the cat and see what happens tomorrow.

Please, enlighten us!

It runs better with the exhaust disconnected (and a lot louder). And I can get it down to 1100 RPM without it wanting to die, but if I let off the gas pedal and it goes to idle it still drops too low, and gets rough. Then it stumbles a bit when I press the gas pedal again. It still seems like its running rich. But it doesn't make sense. The carb is rebuilt again, all cleaned out, and thats all I can do. These carbs aren't tunable. It only has a fast idle screw.

get an adjustable carb!!!!

I think that the spots are as u say just condensation and carbon from ur exhaust valves, cat, pipe and muffler. The idle roughness is what u should work on now that the miss is gone.I dont know what kind of plugs u r running but whatever they ate,try gapping them 2 thousands more than spec and see if that might smooth out yr idle, since ur running a hotter coil, taht might burn off enough more gas to smooth things out a little.BJ

My plugs are gapped to .050. Toyota recommends .035-.040. And I'm running the old NGKs that where in it before. I have a brand new set but I don't want to put them in and have them fowl out like the last set.

sill runnin like crap?
twisted minis   +1y
Yeah, runs like its rich. Runs fine until I try to step on it and raise the RPM, and it floods out.

so the original proplem is gon the missing and such.. then you replaced everythin wores cap rotor, and the coil did the same parts go on that came of .. im mostly interested in the coil?
