So today I actually got to finish the air tank and the gas tank still waiting on some stuff from madmazda to finish the 4 link but I will have the front wired and finished by the weekend and if the parts don't show up by tomorrow night I will just buy what i need and bill it to him as I think the parts got last in the mail but here are some pics.

I still have to paint everything but this time I am going to do all the painting at the end as I won't go through as many paint brushes and it will come out alot better as I still have ALOT of rust to get off.

Funny stuff, dropped90.

Eh, v8, I was wondering if I could ask a couple questions, lol.

- How would the lift and drop of the rear correlate with the position of the bag on the bars? you have it closer to the front. Would it raise more if it were in the rear?

- What steel tubing are you using for the 4-link and gas tank?

- I remember posting about how big of a tank I can get to fit between the rails, how big is mad's? You never specified in my thread as you were in doubt.

BTW, I know I have'nt done this whole bag thing yet and all, but do you really think that FBI's 4-link is bad enough not to use it? I mean they market it and all and use it on customer rides, and I'm sure they have no problems... I've got FBI's 4-link just like that one. I plan on doing BOB with it and I will be welding in gussets though..

havent bagged anything yet but am trying to learn as much as possible before i attempt mine. yes the closer the bags are to the front the more lift you will get. but the closer to the front the more stress you are going to put on the bars and the bags. you will have to have more pressure i believe to lift when its closer to the front. correct me if im wrong someone. and the tank is out of a single cab

Okay let me say that FBI does have some good stuff but the 4 link that madmazda bought is not bad by all means but for what I do with my rides and the fact that I am fond of bags on bars that 4 link would bend in no time. I personally would use them in a ride that has bags on axle and has a very simple system installed but that is my opinion. the air tank is an 8 gal but I think the tank sucks for were the bunges are and how it mounts. The postion of the bag just gives it more lift and I think there is just as much stress were ever you mount the bag. I am using 1 inch by 1/8 wall tubing for the gas tank and 3 by 1 1/2 by 1/8 wall tubing for the air tank. The 4 link is 2x2x1/4 wall lower bars with 2 1/2 bushing ends and the upper bars are 1 1/2x1/4 DOM tubing with 1 1/8 treaded ends.

Oh ya I forgot the reason I kinda over do some things is that in the end I want the rides that I HELP build to be daily drivers and I want them to be around along time. Honestly I have found alot of guys on this site that build great rides and have the same values as I have and when the time comes I hope to meet each one of them as I have learn alot from them and I hope you guys know who you are.

I should be fine with the gussets on mine though, right?

You think if I went with a 8.5 gal, I would be fine?

Thanks for always giving the advice, v8.
