So you are saying before the notch is installed. Ive seen people do that and I've also seen people weld a bar from the frame to the diff to keep it in line. My truck is on four jack stands so I need to lower it back down?

dont center your diff! its offset from the factory for a reason! measure the distance from the outer frame to the inner drum when centering the rearend.

Well thats a given, Measure from outter backing plate to outter back plate, on the rearend and make sure its center between the frame rails, measure twice, cut once, or in this case, weld once.... measure measure measure! lol

don't confuse the guy, go with trashed's method over mad mazda's. that leaves guesswork and eyeballing... don't forget to measure front and rear of the drums.

I have to move it over somehow cause on one side my tire won't clear my fender lip on my bed

i said measure, not guess speedster93b, thanks for your comment though, 87mazdamini, I'd go with V8's comment. there various different ways of doing it from what i've read, you just have to remember to have each end equal on the frame rails, so they'll clear the box... pretty much stock location. but you gotta measure just to be sure.

Well got some grinding done today. Cleaned the frame up to put the rest of the notch in. Had a good talk with v8mazdaforever and hopefully will have the notch done and started on the four link this weekend. It sucks working till seven every night and coming home and only having one or two hours to work on it. Don't want to piss the neighbors off and also live with someone who works graveyard that sleeps in the day time during the week. Its only been a week but I want to drive my truck Don't want to rush it though.
