My Interior Project

Fellas, its been averaging 30 degree days 15 degree wind chill. Work has been crazy with hours and such and I been spending time with the woman. We dont see each other very much so I make time for her. But as my work schedule is coming back down to normal I will be doing the late night thing after work and get it going together.


I got all the materials to do my console, its not gonna be anyting sick but I will take pics and such.

cool man. i know exactly where you are coming from. well with the woman, not quiet the weather. can't wait to se it done.

So its been 63 degrees all week and I have been taking advantage of it. I keep forgetting to take my digital camera but I do have some teaser pics in a way, sorry for bad quality camera phone.

I will estimate at least 15 coats on each piece you see painted and damn it does pay off everyone that has seen it so far has sworn it was sprayed at a shop or so with a gun, but its rattle canned.

I started to get anxious and I tryed to rush my steering column pieces but they came out shittttttttay so I decided to slow down and keep this on the right track

The more and more I see the paint, the more im glad I voted against the blue tweed, what do you think?


Got the navi tires mounted, I was worried about the fit with 215-40-18s but they fit perfect just a tiny stretch on the tire I couldn't be more satisfyed. Thanks to solow93 for the help on that. Its right at the lug....

See that big hole next to the speedo and such? I am attempting to fiberglass my radio bezel into that I hope it turns out okay I been doin alot of research and such on it and I think I will be okay.
You can also see in this pic were the right side of the dash were the upper and lowers meet it kinda sags but that will be takin care of dont worry.

I like it. That paint looks real good from what I see.

what di you do with the Z wheels?

i was about to ask you how the lower and upper dash were mating up. was your radio bezel all hacked up like mine is? haha. i finally found one at a junkyard that wasn't to bad.

i got the doors pulled of the truck and sitting in my storage shed bro. just let me know when you want them.

oh and a question for you. do you still have the a/c and everything hooked up? if so, can you send me a pic of the engine compartment with it all together. if not that's cool. i didn't have anything in mine when i got it and i pulled all the dash stuff out of the parts truck to put into it but i have no underhood stuff yet.

I think I am pretty damn good at rattle canning. I wasn't about to rush them and install them to see what they look like. I no everything has to cure and such. Thanks immortal for the suggestion on painting these bad boys.


Got these little heater so I wouldnt have to turn on my propane heater and kill the whole tank plus this just makes it easier to use because I can lay the pieces down right in front of it instead of holding them over the heater.

My little side project for a buddy shaved his tailgate handle on his tailgate. The tailgate is pure junk, the handle was all broke and shit and I guess from the previous owner they had to yank it reallllllllly hard to open it so yeah, it pulled the sheetmetal around the handle out so the tailgate doesnt flow. The little marks are what needs to be smoothened back out.








Duck tapes only temporary. Now the problem...... IF you look closely the stock heating unit has a nasty offset to it causeing what problem........... building a console it would look straight goofy trying to build around this if at all possible.

MY last pic, This is were I started fiberglassing my radio bezel in the the speedo trim piece. I kinda fucked up but didnt.

I wrapped this piece all the way around like suppose to and it came out good, then I had to cut it down around the edges just so I could fit it, so without fucking thinking I take my jig saw and section the whole piece about 1/4" or less and then it dawned on me I just had to snip the edges and then reglass the bottom so the fiberglass will still hold strong the the original trim piece. But its all good I met the pieces back up and glassed them back together, if it dont come out right I'll just go to the junkyard and get another one.



After doing this I feel alot more confident with fiberglass.

That duct tape is liable to undo all of your hard work in a hurry!
