Maztang: We will definatly keep that tranny in mind. Does your parts truck have a title? We are having problems getting this one settled. We also need a few other parts, but I am sure Kay will post a wanted thread soon.

Is there enough room to lower the body mounts enough to lay pinch?

Wish us luck...we are gonna try to get it running this weekend, if the weather will hold out.

Here is where we found it. (After making the deal, the washer and dryer were threw in for free.)

yes i have the title. my doors are going to slammed83, and i need the passenger fender and the hood. i will let the bed go if the price is right. but i want to keep it.

when you go to bag it you will want to z it atleast 1"-1.5". i like to lay the front crossmember out and raise the rear. don't know why i like it i just do haha.

oh, that reminds me, i am keeping the lower control arms also. haha. that is why i say to z it. it will lay flat but if you do what slammed83 and myself do you will drag the piss out of the lower control arms.

as far as getting it running. i have my 83 and i have an 89 with a 2.2 and a 2.0 head installed. so i really have a lot of experience with both engines and i absolutely love how strong and durable the 83 and 84 2.0s are. much better than the 86-93 2.0s and 2.2s. when you get them going they do not quite.

as far as the body mounts, i do not know yet. i am in the process of doing a traditional bd on the bed but one of these days i will build a full frame. good luck getting it running.

i didn't see the pic before i made that last post. i was driving around the other day with the wife and seen a red 83 or 84 in the weeds a little similar to that. not near as bad as that but similar. haha. these trucks turn a lot of heads when fixed up.

damn, 1 more thing i just thought of..

when you bag it build some kind of guard for the oil tank. the oil tank is not protected like the 86-93 models. i was riding to low one day and didn't see a speed bump and it was one of the most painful days of my life. haha. i had to replace my oil tank which is exciting all on its own.

just one more of those heads ups for ya.

Welcome to the site. Although it's hard for me to say this, but BD's on pre 85 dawgs are really quite silly considering how low they sit on chassis.
Will be watching this build with a grin!

Silly yes but it wouldnt take shit for these to lay body.

But yes definatly take into consideration on what maztang said on the oil pan. Without any thing plated to the crossmember as far as a drag block the oil pan is only about a good solid inch from the ground its pretty hairy.... lol

But keep the questions rollin....
