Project Money Pit finally got layed

well i got my tailgate handle most of the way done tonight just needs finish sanding and i got the holes on one side of the bed welded up and the first coat of body filler on ://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y73/draggn97civic/004-5.

im also thinking about side swinging my tailgate if anybody can give me pointers on doing it would be great and yes ive already read the threads on doing it like i said i just need some pointers and if there is anything i should look out for

Did you weld that filler up solid before spreading the filler?

it was just about solid it had a few lil gaps in it but the last handles i done were the same way for almost two years b4 i sold the truck and as far as i know the guy i sold the truck too hasnt had any problems out of them

ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS weld them solid! If you don't, moisture will creep through the spots and the body filler will delaminate from the metal.

ive heard that but like i said my old blazer wasnt welded solid and i never had any problems out of it for the 2 years i owned it after they were shaved and the guy i sold it too never had any

i got bored yesterday and decided to try out one of those roll in bedliner kits on my truck. it turned out pretty good for a 45$ kit i put three good coats on the floor and two on the sides and i still have half a gallon left so ill probally add a couple more coats once the bed gets cut out for my notch and ill post a couple of pics later on or tomorrow one.

last night i built a tag box and got it tacked welded in still gotta finish welding and body working ://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y73/draggn97civic/006-5.jpg tag box test fitted tacked in with the tag and a lil hint to what is coming when i finish the body work hopefully next week
