Got the head yesterday. The guy at the shop kinda overreacted about the previous owner epoxying over those freeze plugs. He told me it was common and I should just grind it down and apply new stuff.

Anybody know where I can get Indian Head Gasket Shellac?

looks like its comin along pretty fast.

i have a question referring to your first post. how exactly do you run check valves between the sides when runnin 4 valves?

Pretend I didn't say that
layedoutb2k (chase)   +1y
ok, i wont tell anyone.

You could do it, but it'd take more money in fittings than it would to buy two more valves

I'm so pissed. Something made my Bimmer lose all oil pressure yesterday and that's going to be ridiculous to fix.

Anyway, the truck. The motor's back together. All of the brackets except the fan bracket are powdercoated and on there. I'm waiting on Advance to get the heater hoses and the timing idler and tensioner. Those should be in tomorrow. Got most of the wiring done and tested with my drill battery: blinkers, running lights, hazards, headlights, high beams, wipers. I didn't test the front running lights, gotta figure that out.

I've got to get a 3" long speedo adapter cable to go from Mazda to GM so I can use my electronic sender for my gauge. Relocated the battery to the bed and ran it to the bay. All of the sender wires except the speedo sender are ready for their sender.

I ordered line, fittings, one valve, switchbox, gauges and probably something else I forgot from Dev. I'm buying Chad's gauges he posted about.

I'm hoping to have the thing running Friday with the old valves. If I'm feeling plucky, I may start on the valves. I'm not so sure this truck is making it to SBN after all

I just got my laptop from work that was holding my memory card for my camera hostage, so I'll take some pictures tomorrow. The motor's purdy
