Two relays, one per light but not two per light.

This way if there was power put to it, it'd be on and with the blinker sending power to activate the coil, it'd turn the thing off.

Well damn, that'd only work if the running lights were on. Back to the drawing board!

haha thats what i thought

well i thought i had something but it would only work if the lights were on....hummm

two relays would be the only thing i can think of that would work. One to to run the parking lights and the other to run the turn signals. But i dont know how your going to get that to work with the parking lights on. To much thinking for me. Your the electrical guru!

I got it running. My tach's doing something goofy though, it won't read right under 1700RPM so I can't set the idle or reliably tune the carb.

I've got 2 more wires to hide in the engine bay, the choke wire and the new engine ground I had to run into the cab for the gauges.

I still have to rewire the compressor and the valves, but I'm going to halfass that until I get all of my new stuff in.

I replaced the brake master cylinder, rebuilt the clutch slave cylinder, redid the front brakes, replaced one of the outer bearings and put the dash in.

I think the timing's still off a good bit. When I get back from Daytona I'm going to pull the dist and check it again. If it wasn't for all of the last minute BS, I'd be driving it to Daytona!

quadmasta..

Your relay setup should work, What you need to do is add +pos to the top termanal on the relay. Then when headlights are off there will be power for blink light, when the blinker flash. Only thing is the blink might be fast at night, all it is doing is switching powers....if i had a relay laying around i would try it.

hey, if you still have the socket for the bumper lights then just cut holes in the backing of the corner lights and mount a second bulb inside the corner lights. one bulb for the running lights then a brighter one for the turn signals. good luck

Haynes manual shouldn't be trusted for a lot of stuff. The torque on the rocker assembly bolts is definitely one of those.

I started getting oil in the same spot as before when the rear cam seal blew so I pulled the valve cover. ALL of the rocker assembly bolts were loose. I ended up having to Helicoil a few of the bolts because of the previous owner. 20lb/ft and everything's good to go.

Gotta grease the ball joints and tie rod ends and check the toe with a measuring tape and she'll be good to go.

I decided to try to drive about 20 miles on the interstate last week. Had a hose blow out and the truck laid out at 70mph. I got it over to the shoulder as fast as possible. This is when I found out the white things in the emergency are made of ceramic and shatter everywhere when your front crossmember hits them.

Anyhow, most of the truck was okay, I think my crossmember is bent up a bit and those ceramic things ripped my fuel cell cradle out from under the truck.

Yesterday I bought an optima red top, rewelded the fuel cell cradle, fabbed up a battery holder and painted everything rear of the notch with undercoating.
