Haha. Thanks guys. Yea I'm gonna hang onto it. Be a lifelong project. Haha. And thanks for noticing paparoach. Turning the square tubing made everything kinda complicated.

Finally got the 3 link finished. Life is crazy. But i got it done. Still have to weld the tabs.

The instant center is at the grille. The bars are 22 3/4" long. Made from 1 1/2x1/4" square tubing. All joints were beveled before welding with a Miller 252 mig. The rod end is a 3/4" QA1 end with stainless 3/4-9/16 high misalignment spacers.

Got some more done on the truck. Slowly but surely. I had a baby boy and life has been busy. I jus dont want to rush anything on the mazda so its taking a while. But im loving how everything is coming out. I got the tabs welded to the axle housing and the pinion set at 4 degrees up. I read a Dana axle article and it made figuring the pinion angle of a 2 piece driveline a lot simpler. It said that the first shaft and the axle should be parallel to each other. and i read that the transmission is pointing down 3* on mazdas. the first shaft on mine was pointing down at 4*. so that gives me my 1* working angle. and i set the pinion up 4* to be parallel with the first shaft. Heres a couple pics. Not much has changed in the pics but i got some big steps taken care of. I will be welding the backhalf up solid soon and adding fish plates for extra strength. (i was welding with a Millermatic 252 MIG on the axle)

How did i miss this? Back half looks unreal, I really like how the link bars are rotated to create a "diamond" rather than laying flat. Your welding and fabrication looks top notch.

Damn I just went through the whole build... almost 2 hours worth and gotta say i'm really liking the way its turning out. Especially the front fascia and the back half. Those welds on the 4 link tabs are inspiring to say the least.
