I have an 87 b2600 4x4. the four wheel drive part has been taken out and a 305 v8 has been installed. The previous owner installed a 3 inch body lift, 3 inch blocks in the back and cranked the torsion bars in the front. I only have $100. and a lawn mower in this project so far. I aint much on the whole lifted vehicle ideas since i recently drug the tranny crossmember off my 94 ranger with a static drop. What i need to know is what all needs to be changed or taken out to make this thing drag the ground or get it as low as i can on a real tight budget. Any ideas coments suggestions would be great i will try to get some pics on here later today

if he swapped the fron suspension over to a 2wd just take the body lift off,put the blocks between your springs and rear end if your springs are under the axle(i saw a couple with springs over the axle in the junk yard the other day)and turn the torsion bars back down which you might have to reindex them

he didnt swap the spindles or anything he just pulled out the half shafts and front differential. left the 4wd spindles, hubs, and lockers in it. and for the rear what would i need a flip kit since the axle is below the springs. and also r the rear springs different in a 4wd then a 2wd height wise

im just guessing but you are gonna need the front crossmember that the lower control arms bolt too, the lower arms, spindles, hubs and the rear im not sure about cause mine was already lowered when i got it. the upper arms are the same on the 2wd and 4wd. im not sure about the springs but like i said in my last post i looked at a 2wd and a 4wd in the junkyard the other day and both had the springs on top of the axle. and most trucks like that you need a flip kit but you might wanna ask someone else on here about the rear

The 4 wheel drive frames are completely different. At least the front suspension is. Not really the best for dropping.

mine are under the rear too lofo but i saw a i think b2200 in the junkyard with the leafs over the rear. i thought i was seeing things so i looked at it a second time. i know the upper control arms are the same. what i would suggest is go to the parts store and see what all is the same on the 2wd and 4wd and then you will know what all you need to finish the swap. if you cant use the lowers you will have to have a set made

I know for sure the spindles are different height wise. and obviously the hubs are different. About the rear and getting a flip kit no big deal I can handle that. Is it possible after installing the flip kit can I go ahead and put blocks on it also? but for the front I really havent been able to get a good look at it i havent got it in the garage and with all this wonderful weather we are getting its slowing things down. i can get the spindles at a junk yard pretty cheap. all i need to know i guess is about the crossmember and i guess about the lower control arms. Begining to wonder if its even worth it

yes you can go ahead and put blocks in and you will need the lower control arms hopes this helps and post progress pics as you do it
