just curious if the spring mounts on the new rearend had the same spacing as the original one. question is is could i swap the rearends and it bolt up minus the driveshaft mods?

it wont bolt up, the spring mounts are further in. The early models had a narrower frame. Well i have two 4x4 fenders now. Bought the other one at the georgia, south carolina line. It was worth the 2 1/2 hour drive to get it, was in very good condition. Have about $105 in both of them. Not bad for the first day searching for 4x4 fenders. Guess i just got lucky.

also if you are interested in a bumper, theres a company on ebay that makes a fiberglass 4x4 one piece knock-off. i bought one a few months ago. the quality is excellent. the seller is named corksport. heres mine on my truck. ignore the fitment, im having issues with some stuff, its not the bumper.

Next time im in dalton ill stop by and check the shop out. Been busy working on the truck, told my wife i would like to have it driveable this year, so she is holding me to it. Waiting on my new clutch master cyclinder to come in, so i can get to work on relocating it to the inside of the firewall. Its the tilton 76 series. Ill take some pics tomorrow.
