Ordered all of my bag brackets from Devon @ The Bag Shack last night. The rear bags will be over the axle.

I will most likely have to cut out that big rectangular stock bridge, and weld in two round bars instead....

I ordered 3 yards of charcoal grey tweed from - it arrived today! I was pretty excited to try out a little bit of it... So the wife helped me cover the plastic trim piece that fits below the rear window.

I think we did alright considering neither of us have done anything like this before...

Looks like 3 yards will be enough to do both door panels, the headliner, the piece behind the seats, and a couple smaller trim pieces.

I am very pleased with how easy tweed is to work with... My wife is relieved - she feels much better about stitching a headliner together for me.

The door panels will be done with several layers of 1/4" closed cell foam - we're still working out a design. Everything I come up with ends up being too complicated, and after a few hours of work, I scrap it and start over!

I think after getting all this stuff done in tweed, I'll be ready to pull the carpet out and replace it too... It's looking kind of nasty after many years of abuse. I just need to take a good look at it and see if I can just buy some bulk automotive carpet and cut my own replacement. I see no sense in paying over $100 for something I can make for about $40 in materials.

Ordering a 4-link soon... Looking forward to that install!

man just tweed over the carpet you have now its easy thats what i did and it looks good

That's not gonna work for me. I need carpet that is durable, easy to clean, and looks good. I'm not a fan of tweed on the floor.

Remember - this is a daily driver build... Year round, clean or dirty shoes, must be functional!

This is why I had to hunt down a parts truck to rob the blower motor and housing from... And a different cowl. Previous owner thought the truck didn't need a fan, fresh air, heat, etc. Best part - he told me it just needed a fuse for the blower motor, and I was dumb enough to believe him! At least he didn't make TOO many stupid modifications under the dash. The worst of it was some rewiring.

Just a couple updated pics - New tint on the windows, most of the trim back on the truck... Waiting for my windshield trim clips to arrive!

I realized my front crossmember is about an inch off the ground. Gotta fix that!
