project "ginger" 88 b2200 bagged and bodied update 11/8/13

looking dam good and digging the old school dash.

ok time to update again. decided to build a console so i could have some dang cupholders lol. i started out by buying a center piece out of a 64 galaxie console so it would match with the dash.



then i took some 1/2in mdf and started building the sides. the main issue was that the aluminum piece wasnt square, it had an angle to it and it got narrower as it went back.





then i added me some spiffy cupholders. they are aluminum drop ins for a poker table. got them off of ebay for cheap



added my gauges and the clock that i deleted from the dash when i narrowed it



i also shaved my column pastic and moved the key cylinder to the dash. this was a pita!





test fitted in the truck



and how it sits now. still gotta do something about that hole where the factory galaxie shifter came out. im thinking about an old chrome drop in covered ash tray and just use the lid of it. then when i open it my switchbox will be under it
