So the new motor sat in the back of the truck for a week or so because i didn't have an engine hoist. I borrowed one from my buddy and a member on here the weekend before last.
these pictures are from this past weekend

got the motor in just got to set timing and play with idle speed. also had to order a new set of exhaust manifold gaskets. i ended up changing the rear main seal, and oil pan gasket before i dropped the motor in.

well got a few set-backs... #1 plug seems to be stripped/cross threaded... i need to pull it to make sure the timing is all ligned up correctly because i can't get the timing mark on the crank onto the timing scale and have the truck stay running..... right now its running good but the timing mark is at 12 o'clock..... so if i pull it im afraid that its going to strip out and i will need to replace the head.... heli-coil is outta the question it will be a waste of time and money because it wont last...... also got some valve clatter going on, may just need to adjust them......

that thing has new plugs in it. when i timed the thing last time that was the only place that it would run and it ran great. i ran it that way for who knows how long with no problems. i searched and searched on why it was like that and the only thing i could come up with was that there has been a few other people that it happened too as well and nobody knows why. like i told you before you got it. the valves need to be adjusted. they have the solid lifters in it. they must be adjusted every few thousand miles which is no biggie and not hard. I didnt have a problem with the plug before. the only thing i can think of is if once the temperature has changed in the engine going up and down that maybe the threads have gotten looser.

that seems plausible.
