I would love to stay with hydraulic. I wasn't able to find any info on it when I tried a while back. If you don't mind, please share where you bought your bracket and cylinder. I would love to have that setup on mine.

I'm also concerned with the Mazda master cylinder having the right throw distance (pressure) for the slave cylinder. Have you tested yours yet?

I will probably just hook up the stock gauge cluster. If I can't get the speedo cable to work, I'll just run an aftermarket gauge in a different location. I don't really like the look of aftermarket gauges stuck in an OEM gauge panel, even when they're done well. I'm still undecided, though.

I had read another 5.0 build thread on Mazda Trucking, I believe he is a member on here too... RG2200. He linked me to this site for the bracket and slave. Pricey, but the installation was easy and they had very fast shipping.

He said he upgraded his master cylinder to a larger size, but other projects I have read through that did the same conversion said their stock Mazda master was fine. I haven't had a chance to hook mine up yet. I just need to buy the braided stainless line to go from the master to the slave.

Overall, there is a decent amount of information on the subject if you check Google for T5 hydraulic conversion kit.

Please keep us updated on what you figure out for your speedo cable and gauges. I am slowly working on my project and undecided at this point what I want to do. Counting on members like you for some helpful tips and advice:)

Won't be long now.

We ended up going with a hydraulic slave to actuate the clutch fork. Seems to work well at this point. We ended up using a Jeep Wrangler master cylinder to mate up to the rest of the system. Nothing else was the right size and volume.

The engine still needs to be tuned and quite a few things re-wired and gauges installed, but it runs, drives, and stops under its own power. It's been a long time coming.

Looking good Brit. I ended up using a Wilwood MC and did a hydraulic conversion for my T5 as well.
I got all the gauges and speedometer working so if you have any questions just hit me up.
Glad to see ya making progress on it again!

man wow it has been a long time coming. Sounds great is that final exhaust?

Those are the final mufflers, but the routing of the exhaust will change a little. Should still sound the same.

Did you reuse any of the stock gauge cluster?
