I know it has been a while since I have posted about this truck, but there hasn't been anything to post. That all changed a couple of days ago. I finally have Pico Rojo back from the Mustang shop. I can't get over how good this thing sounds. I expected it to sound like a Mustang. What I didn't expect was that it was going to sound like a straight up race car. It's really hard to tell from the video, but when it finally calms down and idles, it has a great lope to it.

There's still a lot of work to do (interior, straighten up engine bay, drive shaft, clutch, gauges, etc.), but the hard parts are done. I'm shooting to have her on the road in two to three months. Family, UTV racing and running a business takes all of my spare time.

It still needs to be put on a chassis dyno and tuned. That will straighten out the rough, low RPM, idle, among other things.

Let me know what you think.

Try to refresh. I changed it right before your reply.

Sounds mean as hell. Awesome man! It looks great too!

Thanks. Still a lot of work to do, but I'm really looking forward to driving it down the road again.

From what I can tell about the OEM fuel level sending unit in these trucks, it sends 90 (empty) to 0 (full) ohms. Does that sound right?

Does anyone know of a gauge manufacturer that makes a fuel gauge? I can't seem to find one on Summit's site, and I don't really want to have to pay extra for a programmable gauge.

updates?

Dropped it off at the driveshaft shop two days ago. I should have it back tomorrow or first of the week.

Then, I have to get the clutch working. The T5 is cable shift and the Mazda is hydraulic. I think I'm going to custom fabricate a cable system and use the OE Mazda clutch pedal.

After the clutch setup is complete, I can take it and get it dyno tuned so that it will idle and run properly.

Have you given any thought to converting the T5 to a hydro clutch? That is what I'm doing on mine. I bought a slave and bracket online. There is a bunch of kits out there.

What did you decide to do with your gauges? Speedo gauge? Fuel gauge? Is it 90ohm (empty) to 0 omhs full?
What are you doing for speedometer cable to your T5?
