Here's the rear arms for the airbags...not welded and rough cut out!! One side is for the airbag, the center bushing is for the pivot point and the other side is going to be mounted on top of the axle.

Awesome project! if you were going to have a bed cover, you could do one in a solar panel so it could charge the batteries...just a thought....

that would be different

Yep, already looked in to it...thought it would be cool to make the bed cover out of P. V. Cells. Rather expensive and hoped that someone might donate some. But, after a little research, come to find out its not worth it. What we're dealing with is heavy compared to total solar cars and to get the maximum out of the cells, you have to worry about angle to the sun, square footage, etc. Plus, we would be adding weight and that takes more energy to move around. We are better off putting larger ones on our house and using that to charge our batteries. It seems like nobody thinks of it as being like a gasoline engine. If we keep our foot off the floor during acceleration or can lighten our load, we get better gas mileage, right? I WISH THOUGH BRO!

Here's some more pics of new components and things we just got in....

Don't know if we've mentioned how powerful the system will be.... We will be running 16 6volt batteries in series for a 96 volt system. We wanted to do a 120 volt system but budget cuts toned us down a little....shooting for a 35 mile range on a single charge at about a 65mph max speed.

Just some soldering and more and more soldering....

Got all the suspension mounts, 4-link and arms made and welded up...will post some pics soon. Hopefully have it bagged in the next few days...(won't get to work on it again until Monday)....
