my best advice now that I'm pretty sure I screwed up and sat back and looked at what I did wrong, is... set your frame up at ride height..with your drive shaft and axle still all connected... your stock frame rails shouldn't be in the way (I'm doing a 5 inch ride height and mine are not in the way.... make sure all your pinion and operating angles are correct, because that will also determine the axle location. then you can run a plumb bob to get the center of your axle location on frame... that's where I would put the center of your notch.... and even though your doing bag on bar and not on axle I think that would still be the rout that I would go... if this is wrong maybe someone will chime in and correct me, but after sitting back and looking at mine I think that is how i should have done it... hope this helps lol

Thanks for the advice! will be picking up some 3" square stock this week so i can make the cross membr for the link tabs. Recently i have drilled out all of the spot welds for the front fender panels in order to replace them with 1.5"x1.5" square up top, trailer fenders and sheetmetal.

dude I would advise not to bother with the tubing, trailer fenders are pretty heavy duty most of the time, I def didnt need to sacrifice the clearance or add any strength

I do all my patch panels in 14g

If ya wanna go big wheelin in the future..........

That looks like it turned out really nice. Wheels will be a long ways away for me but would like the truck to be prepared for them once i do get them. I will take your advise and pick up some 14g for the fender sheetmetal. these fenders look to be very strong. So you think i should totally skip out on the square tubing running from the firewall to the rad support? i have saved about 10 pictures of ways people have done the fenders up front and i am currently deciding on what will work out best for me.

Im looking to do fenders tubs similiar to this style but i see he didnt use square tubing either

once it is all welded in it will be strong again, so you dont need the tubing
