Spoke to tim at slam specialties and he gave me two options.

1. Buy new bags to replace the split ones and then send the split ones to him to see if they are covered and if they are I will be refunded the shipping costs and the price of the new bags( customs will charge me $125)

Or

2. Send the bags in and wait to see if they are covered and if they are new bags will be sent out(
customs will still charge $125

Either way this evening I will fully pressurize my bags to ensure no others fail.

Ok, that blows... either way you are out $125 and I am guessing there is nothing you can do about that. Seems to me there should be a better (less costly) way to move merchandise to our good neighbors to the north. I suppose Tim wasn't willing to cover that expense even though there product was defective. Can you imagine if you lived in Australia and order some RE7's from the US only to find they were defective and the manufacture would only cover the cost of the bags. Ouch.

Eitherway, your progress on the bed is great! Look forward to the next round of pics!!!

Well i spoke to Tim over the phone this afternoon and I have decided to go with option one. Hopefully the duty fees can be waived because it is a warrnaty/replacement item. Slam specialties seams to have great customer service after making my first call to them. My good friend who is helping me with the structural welding took my lower link bars to class(just finishing his last week of welding school and about to start putting in his hour for his first year of work) to lay a bead on the lower bag mounts. He used one of the Miller Units at school that does Mig, Tig, arc etc. The original multi pass welds done with my hobart 125 on the lowerbag mounts had some cold lap and were unsatisfactory so they were zipped out and redone.

See thats why i tell guys to buy from me or one of the other places on this side of the border. I myself have never had a problem with a slam bag but i did with air lift but they were great I got a new bag and did not even have to send the old one back to them but I did do alot of business with them. The shop i get some of my stuff from up here is good to they if possible exchange the part same day. But thats the problem with buying from the states you get burnt at the border and you have to wait some times the whole summer to get things replaced with the company and with shipping time. Yes I know most times it costs abit more up here but in the end its worth it when you have some thing fail and its brand new and by the looks of the bag its definitly some thing they should just replace if they dont let us know as I will change what bags i use. For how much it costs them they should just say hey its on its way and sorry for the problem

Its probabaly going to cost me 25 to ship to them and then i dont know how long its going to take them to inspect this bag before they send out my new one that i will have to pay for until they consider this one defective. I was unaware i could order any air ride parts within Canada?

thanks! still will get a little more fully aired

Did a quick mock up before i start to build the mounts for the fuel cell and air tank. What do you guys think air tank up front and tank out back or the other way around?

I plan to remove the rear cross memeber and replace it with some of the same steal i used for the link tab member, i also plan on moving it towards he cab a few inches. Still have to add some shocks. what do you guys suggest? brand? cheapies? mounting? i have all the mount tabs for the shocks already
