So the guy before me shaved my key lock hole so I don't have any door locks. I would like to be able to leave the truck somewhere and not worry about it.
I know there are guys who have done this, but I was wondering what the most sufficient set up was. I would like an alarm too. Any help is appreciated!

I know somebody has got to know! Haha I know I will need actuators and the kit with all the wiring. But it there anything else I need or need to know? Size of actuators? Anything helps guys

I haven't done it, but there are kits all over the place for this. I would imagine the locks need very little force to move them.

Autoloc has a kit I was thinking about trying but haven't had the money for it yet. I asked around and heard it was good and would work. Might be something to check out. Me and tuna were going to work on a "junk yard" kit like he did with the power windows but haven't gotten around to it. He's the guy to talk to, knows tons... I'm just trying to learn from him as much as I can lol

I would think any actuator from a top facing lock would work... That gives u tons of JY options. With a little money and some creativity this doesn't sound too difficult... As for leaving your truck somewhere without having to worry about people breaking in why don't ya just shave them handles? If there's no handle (and you don't run switches on the truck) then people can't get in... I've parked my Mazda in some pretty bad areas and I have no issues. Plus I like asking people to get shit out of my truck just to watch them stare at the door for a few minutes before I walk up and pop the door... Lol

Wow thanks guys! I don't have much experience in the door stuff. Is the autoloc kit pretty much bolt on? I've been lookin and lookin and can't find much. I know tuna and Cusser know alot about the B's haha I was hoping one of them would chime in with a fool proof way to get it done, because honestly I'm still pretty lost on it.

I was thinking about shaving them. But living in Wyoming, I don't want my body work cracking, and I'm not a very good welder. So I was thinking about trying to find a power lock kit until I decided whether to shave or not. My only problem with shaving is I know the door skin is thin and I don't feel comfortable welding on it. So I'm thinkin about hitting a scrap pile and picking up a cheap welder and then practice on an old door until I'm ready. And recommendations on a welder that I could do a 4 link, bed floor, and handle with?

If anyone else knows of a way to get power locks w/ a remote, since I have no key hole. Let me know! Thanks!

I'm in the same boat when it comes to welding... I'm not perfect at it but I don't have access to a welder or electricity for a welder... I have been looking into this 3m panel bond stuff that holds up to 3000 psi and bonds metal to metal... It would help with door shaving or any other metal filler plates...

I'm buying a Hobart 140 mig welder, can get them for about 500$ new and have heard nothing but good things about it.

As for the autloc kit, I'm sure there's some modification required but shouldn't be to difficult. I'm sure if you got the kit someone could walk you threw it

Well I think I found the auto loc kit.

Would this work on my 91? I emailed them about it with the questions I've asked here.
Hey fdugn, what's that panel stuff you speak of? I can't really see shaving handles without welding a filler plate in?

You can also use a standard car alarm and buy the 40lb pullers. Another idea is to use the pullers from a car that had electric trunk release (80-90's gm & ford). Regular door locks dont generate enough force to open a door. I have installed the autoloc set up in many cars (two mazdas,` a desoto custom, a '50 Merc, '49 Ford...)
