that big box is a fues box. it has your main engine fuse and some others for head lights, and other important stuff. ONLY IF ITS PART OF THE ECU WIRING COMING OUT OF THE GROMENT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE FIREWALL IT CAN BE GOTTEN RID OF (ALL EXCEPT THE 4 BLUE (AND ONE BLACK) WIRES FOR THE WIPER MOTOR. ALL THE OTHER WIRING IS NEEDED FOR THINGS THAT YOU NEED.

When installing a weber do I need to keep 02 sensor

Not to use, keep O2 sender there to plug the exhaust. Frequently these ruin the threads when removed.

this has been supremely helpful to me thank you both for this great discussion. I am putting my weber on this weekend and after removing the EGR it was so stuck with sludge I decided to remove the intake and darn glad I did the gasket was toast. when removing the old carb. I wandered the same thing about what stayed and what could go. I have the same green conector and I wanted to ask if it could be removed and just pluged or not?

I see a small round 1/2 soda can sized filter looking thing on some of these weber conversions sitting on top of the rocker arm cover. is that something I should get?

do you need a fuel pressure regulator if you have the original mechanical fuel pump?

I can't wait to hear it run with the weber and no intake leaks.

Thanks for that, So just to be clear and avoid possible error, your saying that when I put my pacesetter header on I wont need the O2 sensor at all?

thank and by the way you have been invaluable to my work on my truck thank you thank you keep it up!

Correct: with Weber carb, the O2 sensor is not used at all. Mine still has the little wire attached to it - and to nothing at the other end.
