If you haven't replaced the other hoses already, I'd do it, if one is rotten and aged enough to blow, the others won't be far behind. I learnt that lesson the hard way.
Before ripping the water pump off, remove your timing covers and either pressure test your cooling system or run your engine up till it gets to operating temp, on the underside of the water pump, out towards its drive pulley there should be a small hole about 1/4 inch in size.... Maybe a little smaller, this is there so that coolant can escape from around the bearing if the shaft seal has failed and tends to be the most common cause of water pump leakage.
Sounds like your getting pretty close to finding your leak, keep at it, you'll find that sucker eventually.

ok so you guys see how when i took the pics it was pretty moist?
well i started her up, let her run for 10 minutes (to get to operating temp) and drove to my uncles house to have him take a look (which is like 10 miles away at least i think. idk, but when i got there, i popped the hood and all the moisture in the pics, was dry....

im not saying theres no leak or that its gone, cuz thats improbable, but its really annoying -___-

Can you get a loaner pressure tester from AutoZone? You'd pump up the pressure in the radiator/cooling system through a cap/adapter, helps to find leaks faster.

ill see about that if me nor my uncle find it tomorrow morning when we take a better look with stuff taken out. and heres another look at the spot im talking about. weird thing is, i dont see anywhere above that could be causing it. it like starts right there.

but i have another question!!

does anyone have any suggestions on what this would be caused by? i replaced my valve cover and fuel pump cuz the guy at treadquarters said that should fix it, but it still looks fresh. i tried cleaning it as much i could but it jus got back to this point.

If the leak is coolant (greenish color, miscible with water), your photo above looks like it might be too high on the engine to be the water pump. I'm thinking one of the little hoses on the passenger side, check those, two are pretty hidden.

Your photos are good, almost too good - I had a little trouble figuring out just where on the engine you were photographing. The photo above shows the lower timing cover.

Ok studied the pics of fuel area/starter location. It can be 1 of 3 things.1 either fuel pump is blowing oil out and the plastic spacer between the pump and head is cracked or broken or not sealed.2nd your cam cap on back of block is leaking.3rd your hg is blowing out the side and or back. Now my truck has a leak but is it DEF my hg blowing oil out between the gasket and leaking down my transmission.I first thought fuel pump and or cam cap but neither were the issue. It took me a few minutes to determine the rubber boot thinking dist but wait one cap (no way) that is the starter close to the engine mt.Seems you have two leaks maybe from the same source hg.Idk tired long day and brake clean the cam cap,fp,and drive like shortly and then run your finger around these areas to isolate it.I want drive mine till I do a hg bc I know it is leaking/blowing oil but out the back btwn block and head for sure!

i had small feeling it was because yesterday my friend pointed out to me it my be the thermometer, so i look around and i saw a bit of moisture outside around where the big hose connects and so i think its that. i jus gotta wait to check til i see it start wet again. because its on and off -___-

Yeah, check the thermostat housing, the hose connection there, and the temperature sender (just under the thermostat housing). If one of those that's leaking, that should be a ready fix. Guess many of us assumed that you already checked that area - sorry !

Hints, if that's the leak location:

Jack up front left side of truck, makes it easier to place the thermostat in place
Don't overtighten the thermostat outlet housing.

hmm. those are a lot of possibilities but at least i have a better idea now. thanks! ill check it out as soon as i take it for a little drive. i already cleaned it off as much as i can.

question, when i drain the radiator a little bit, can i reuse it or should i get a new bottle?
