hey guys, I did the 2.0 head swap and put in a set of rings while I was at it and over the last few days after work I been tweakin on it and trying to get the valves set, carb tuned ect. I think I got the valves close, I set to .008 mm and theres still some clatter. but somthin still aint quite right, like sometimes when I rev it, its firing but the motor hesitates just a little, maybe a little sputter here and there at idle. I tweaked all through the carb and that aint it, I found a few vacuum leaks, fixed them, made a bit of a difference. but thers still a miss somers. I was hauling ass thru my field last night and I had my foot down not all the way but a good bit and it stopped accelerating for a few seconds, it was still maintaining speed but just no power then bam! took off again. almost like a plug wasn't firing or a cylinder wasn't getting fuel but it was real quik, like a second. but when its not doing it it seems to run a hell of a lot better than it did. so im getting close. any ideas, I used almost a hole can of starter fluid looking for leaks, the hose that runs from brake master to intake was leaking like hell but I replaced it. thanx in advance

I'm sure u checked /replaced it but maybe the fuel filter? That's sounds like what mine did when filter was getting plugged. Or maybe bad wires or coil. I had an issue with a brand new set of spark plug wires I bought and two of them were not firing correctly. Idk man I have a miss at idle when cold but once it warms up it runs good.

Sorry I'm not much help...

it barely does it at idle, just I little bitty puff and then I don't here it for another 10 to 20 seconds, more so when im moving, especially under heavier throttle. Ill take a look at the filter, the outside looks bran new but wouldn't hurt, just replaced wires, the were fine b4 I started the swap. I went and waited to do the swap until I had it runnin right then went and messed it up. lol. maybe I still have a valve off but I used a feeler gauge.

Also I recently adjusted my lifters to the T and they still chatter... Just saying...

My filter looked okay from the outside but when I took it out brown shit poured out.

still wonder why I have a lifter or two ticking, I set the gaps at .008 with a feeler gauge

got to reading valve lash and im seeing the measurements in inches, my feeler gauge is in mm, what mm should it be set to cause I have it at .008
