im not understanding why some are saying .30 mm and som are saying .008mm. that's a big difference, does anyone know the proper damn clearance so I can get this thing right, ive looked through the threads and none say what measurement they are in. just says .008 or .012 and .029 in. and someone says no that's wrong and so on and its not making any sense without a type of measurement. witch one is it? my gauge is in mm. I set it last night to .008mm and it sounds like a machine gun when I rev the engine. if u have the clearance in inches, tell me what it is I have a mm to in / in to mm chart right here waiting so I can convert inches to mm and visa versa.

if .012 in is correct then .012in = .3mm and .008 inches = .2 mm, BUT since I couldn't find the correct measurement I gapped them at .008MM. and .008 mm = .00031 inches! anyone see what im saying? the measurements aren't exactly specific as to what type of measurement they are talking about and I don't wanna burn my shit up. I been trying to get this right for days now, its valves come on. I shouldn't be having this hard of a time.

ok I made a mistake, my gauges are in inches, but im still not understanding y its ticking still after setting it at .008 in. witch is like 2mm

ok so ive read and confirmed that the oem spec is .012 in. witch is .3mm and most go under that to eliminate ticks due to worn parts. so most go to .008 in. witch is about .2mm. that's where mines sitting, (adjusted cold then hot) and still ticks. so im guessing I need to run 10w40 and drive it around for awhile, some say the tick sticks around for a while then goes away, we will see.

set the valves to .010 and they are pretty noisey but I fixed all other issues, bad idle ect, I had to RETARD my timing! wtf. but it runnin good now
