Hello I'm new here and have some questions about a 4 link on a mazda that I have aquired and I don't know if it will work. From what I have read I think its a 50/50 4link. Will this work if I put another link where the red lines are? I really don't want to change it if I don't have to because funds are tight (other than adding the other link). Thanks for any help!!!!!!!!

That is what I was thinking of doing to mine but I no expert I think it would be called a 5link (since there are 5 points were it connects to the truck)

It gets a lot of lift with the bags where they are.

it will get a lot of lift, but i would put either a bigger bar or a gusset accross the bottom on those rear bars. They will be seeing a lot of stress. My understanding is your wishbone will work, or do front uppers to turn into parralell 4 link, and a lot a guys on streetsource do a panhard or watts link to keep it centered if they do parralell setup. Did you buy it this way already i'm guessing? Its looking good though.

Yeah i bought it like this from a friend that i helped build it. The bars are pretty beefy, they are thick wall pipe. Thanks for the info and keep it coming i need all i can get.

It Should fly... I wouldn't worry bout the wishbone.... check into jus a panhard bar...IMO... a wishbone isn't gonna give u much side to side support... plus might cause some weird binding w/ the way pinion angle changes w/ suspension travel

Rotten, I STRONGLY disagree!
If nothing is attached to the top side, at the very least, there will be catastrophic failure of the u-joint when the axle wraps up during hard braking or acceleration.
... it may even fail before it ever gets moving under its own power.

Yep I agree with scl....the only bars that are doing any work in that setup is the front bars. the rear bars pull down and lift the truck but they give no support to the diff at all because of the swing at the back of the diff. It needs another point to keep it from wrapping and also to limit it from side to side. That wishbone is deffinately what it needs. You also need to look into redesigning that attatching point for that rear cantilever setup. Needs to be beefier.

Yeah I'm definitely going to redo the rear attachment point, that was more of a mock up to see how it all worked. So the wishbone will stop the side to side of the rearend. Thanks mazdawg
